Christa Cardenas,PA
Board Member
Christa Cardenas is a nurse practitioner practicing in both Los Angeles County and Oxnard, CA. Her first Lighthouse Medical Mission trip was to Sierra Leone in 2007, when she was seventeen years old. She knew for certain, after that trip, that she wanted to enter the medical field. Her goal after that trip was to return to Africa as a health-care professional. Since then, Christa has gone on medical missions to Africa, Central America, and South America as a student, registered nurse, and nurse practitioner.

"I am a California native and zealous USC fan! I came to the Lighthouse Church on the invitation of a friend in 1982 and my life hasn't been the same since. There I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior; met my husband of 35 years, Bill, and where we raised our son Michael. I also got involved in Lighthouse Medical Missions by helping the team to prepare all the necessary paperwork for travel, visas and other required documentation. I also manage the mission's finances and with fundraising. It's been a joy.
Every time I see the team leave for their next mission, I have such a sense of satisfaction.
I enjoy meeting needs, meeting good people, many of which are now my friends, as we minister to bodies and souls, together, for Jesus."

"I’ve had the privilege of visiting West Africa five times. I’ve had the privilege of helping with acquiring land and constructing Churches and Schools in the Sierra Leone cities of Kenema, Makeni, Lunsar and Waterloo. These facilities will help the Africans educate their children and preach Jesus for years to come."
